Bachelor of Arts - Psychology with Management

A selection of the courses completed in my Bachelor of Arts degree programme

The programme in Psychology with Management has provided me with a rounded understanding of human behaviour in the society, community, relationships, groups, and organisational settings. It has grounded my understanding of the linkages between people and their organisations.

Major tenets of the programme in Psychology include how individuals and groups learn with an examination of different styles, preferences, and theories of learning; how they are motivated; how they behave and perform in certain settings; and how human behaviour can be influenced to achieved desired results.

The Management section of the course provided a foundational knowledge of how managers and leaders function; how they relate to employees and stakeholders, utilise a purpose, vision, and set goals for the organisation. An emphasis was placed on leadership, and management; employee and organisational behaviour; market research and assessing an organisation's viability through the analysis of its immediate, internal, and external environments, in relation to the global community.

Research, and the analysis and presentation of findings were major components in each programme through written submissions, experimental designs, data collection, and creative individual/group live presentations.

My final research paper was completed on Trust and the (employee/employer) Psychological Contract that facilitates mutual benefits and exchanges for commitment, teamwork, and productivity in the organisation. In retrospect, this topic choice reflects my budding interest in human performance and those mediating and contributing factors to individual and or organisational success.
